Antarctic Ice Marathon, Antarctica

Challenge your limits and conquer the seventh continent with the Antarctic Ice Marathon, a race that stands as a true test of endurance and resilience. Taking place in the heart of Antarctica, this marathon will push your boundaries with its unique and extreme conditions.

Prepare to face the elements, as you run on snow and ice, battling average windchill temperatures of -20°C and the potential for strong Katabatic winds. The race unfolds at an altitude of 700 meters, adding another layer of challenge.

The three-day adventure commences as you board a private jet in Punta Arenas, Chile, on December 12th. It will transport you to Union Glacier, Antarctica, where you'll take on the monumental task. A well-marked course of 42.2 kilometers (26.2 miles) awaits you, with snowmobile support, aid stations, and medical personnel throughout the race. On December 14th, you'll return to Punta Arenas, having completed a marathon truly worthy of the seventh continent.

For those striving to join the exclusive 7 Continents Marathon Club by running a marathon on each of the seven continents, this race is an indispensable experience. While you may not achieve your fastest time due to the 10-25 knot winds from the Pole, you'll have the extraordinary opportunity to run in the serene and unforgiving Antarctic wilderness.

If a marathon seems too daunting, consider the Frozen Continent Half-Marathon, allowing you to cover 21 kilometers (13.1 miles) on the 'white continent' and claim the title of the southernmost half marathon finisher on the planet.

The cost for this unforgettable adventure is a registration fee of USD $25,000.

This fee covers round-trip flights from Punta Arenas to Union Glacier, accommodation, food, and entry to your chosen race. You'll also receive top-quality race photos for personal use, as well as medals, t-shirts, and patches.

Please keep in mind that weather conditions may affect flight schedules, potentially shortening or extending the duration of the trip.

Embrace the challenge and embark on a remarkable journey to the Antarctic Ice Marathon.
